Its been a long and difficult few weeks but thankfully the worst is over.
I had a bad case of bronchitis that I could not shake. One night it was particularly bad; I could not breath and felt the old elephant sitting on my chest feeling. I had my husband take me to the hospital thinking they would give me something to help me breathe and send me home.
No such luck. A whole can of worms was opened. An EKG came back abnormal which led to a number of tests as well as a cardiac Cath, where they look for blockage in your heart.
To make a looooooooong story short, I spent just under a week being poked and tested and etc…
The result. I’m gonna live but I gotta take Blood Pressure meds and use an inhaler now. Apparently, I have some heart and BP issues as well as breathing issues.
Its all too much to go into in detail and the main thing is I’m feeling better. I’m taking care of myself, following my doctors orders and so far, so good.
In good news, the hospital stay helped my book sales. I’ve yet to figure how they interact with each other, but the book reached # 10 on the African American Historical Fiction list. Did somebody post that I was sick and get me the sympathy vote? Lol.
So, good and bad. I’ll focus on the good, thank you. Wanted to catch you all up to date. Thanks for hanging in there and bearing up with my spotty posts. In the future, I plan to post about twice a week.
Very soon, like a day or so, I plan to get back to work on my next book.
I noticed some new followers. Thanks and to all my
followers as well.
Hello. I am the author of the Historical Fiction novel called Mamie Garrison. It is a tale of slavery, abolition, romance and history, set in the years just prior to the Civil War. It is available on Kindle for .99 and on Kindle Unlimited; also in paperback. Mamie Garrison has a dual storyline. The present day story involves Bella and Andrew finding Mamie's journals. Their story includes romance and paranormal aspects. Mamie's story follows her adventures as an abolitionist through her journals. There are some mysteries as well as an unusual background in Mamie's life. I am 59 and married with one adult child and one grandchild. I have always enjoyed the written word and have been a voracious reader from my early youth. I am inspired by many authors in the historical fiction genre. I am also a lover of Russian literature, particularly Tolstoy and Doestoyefsky. I find great inspiration for creating characters by looking at the ones these two authors have created. There is such a depth to them. I have written for most of my life in one form or another. I have dabbled in poetry and songwriting, and have more started novels than finished ones. In my free time, I like reading, history and travel. I am interested in genealogy and working on my family tree. I live in the Midwest United States with my husband, Chris and my dog, Max.
